Introducing Sarah Tickner, our new Resident Engagement Manager

We’ve recently recruited a Resident Engagement Manager, Sarah Tickner. Sarah will be working with residents to understand what is important to you to help ensure we provide you with good homes and good services.

What is resident engagement?

Resident engagement sometimes also gets called resident involvement or tenant participation.  While these are different names they have the same aim – to provide opportunities for you to work with us, to influence and ultimately co-create services and to hold us to account.

We’ve always had a range of ways people can be involved so they can engage in the way that suits them best. We value all feedback and use it to continually improve services. Some of the ways you may wish to engage with us around service development and co-creation include:

  • Having access to the information you need at the time you need it on the website or via MyHomeOnline
  • Wanting to see that we have learnt from complaints and other feedback and that this learning has improved how we do things
  • Getting involved with more structured involvement opportunities like; reviewing performance, policy reviews or satisfaction survey feedback
  • Joining our Resident Scrutiny Panel.

What’s next?

We are keen to build on our engagement options and actively involve more residents. This will be a strong focus for Sarah and she’s looking forward to working with as many of you as possible.

Commenting on her new role, Sarah said: “I’m really excited to start this piece of work.  I’ll be reaching out to you all in the Spring, seeking your input and involvement. Together, I’d like us to create what resident engagement at Town and Country Housing looks like going forward. I’ll also be asking you to share your thoughts on the draft resident engagement strategy before it goes to our Board for approval later this year.

“I’d really love to hear from you, and your commitment could be as little or as much as you would like.  Initially I’m just looking for expressions of interest and the rest we can work out together.”

If you are interested in finding out more, please contact Sarah via getinvolved@tchg.org.uk or on 01892 501480.
