We were pleased some of our residents entered into a gardening competition this summer, run by the Older Peoples Service at Peabody.
The competition was open to everyone living in assisted living or extra care homes across the Peabody Group, including Town & Country Housing.
Residents could enter one of three categories: Best Communal Garden, Alternative Garden and Best Pots and Hanging Baskets.
We were delighted when Mrs Kidd, who lives in one of our Extra Care schemes in Tonbridge, was picked as the winner of the Alternative Garden category.
The judges praised Mrs Kidd for her creative and stylish approach to making her balcony so beautiful, and they particularly liked the simple, colourful arrangement.

Bob Heapy, Chief Executive of TCH, visited Mrs Kidd to present her with a certificate and a prize of a £100 B&Q voucher.
“I was delighted to see Mrs Kidd’s garden, and it was great to hear how much she loved taking part. She’s now planning to use her prize to buy plants to create a winter garden!” he said.
