You will have seen that Storm Ciarán is forecast to bring heavy winds and rain over the next 48 hours. The storm will be particularly focused on the south coast, but The Met Office has issued a yellow warning for wind across southern England throughout Thursday.

Power cuts
Due to the high winds there is an increased chance of power cuts. UK Power Networks is urging anyone who sees that an overhead power line is down to keep clear, and call its emergency line on 105.
Its website details how to prepare for a power cut, as well as information on current power cuts and when they will be fixed, and details of the Priority Services Register, for those who may need more support during a power cut.
