Storm Ciarán update
You will have seen that Storm Ciarán is forecast to bring heavy winds and rain over the next 48 hours. The storm will be particularly focused on the south coast, but The Met Office has issued a yellow warning for wind across southern England throughout Thursday.
If you need to book a repair over the next 48 hours please be aware that it may take you longer to get through to us. This is because we are expecting a high number of calls due to the storm.
The Met Office website has a range of advice on how to stay safe in a storm, which you can read here: https://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/warnings-and-advice/seasonal-advice/your-home/stay-safe-in-a-storm
Due to the high winds there is an increased chance of power cuts. UK Power Networks is urging anyone who sees that an overhead power line is down to keep clear, and call its emergency line on 105.
Its website details how to prepare for a power cut, as well as information on current power cuts and when they will be fixed, and details of the Priority Services Register, for those who may need more support during a power cut.
Some flood warnings are in place, and you can check if your area is affected through the government’s Check for Flooding Service – https://check-for-flooding.service.gov.uk/alerts-and-warnings
