Helping people flourish

At Town & Country Housing (TCH) we like to give staff the opportunity to develop their career and give them the chance to try new things, all while working towards the same goal; to make a positive difference to the communities we serve.

Niki Melville reflects on his journey as Tenancy and Money Support Manager and how TCH has supported him to get there.

“I originally joined TCH as a Neighbourhood Housing Manager in May 2019. Then when an opportunity for a pilot position as a Project Officer working in Tenancy Sustainment came up, I jumped at the chance. It didn’t take long for TCH to see the positive impact this role was having for residents. As a result, we created the tenancy support team and have now incorporated the money support team. I now manage a team of nine who all work closely with residents when they need that little bit extra support with their tenancy or finances.

I cannot express how grateful I am for the support and opportunities TCH has given me so far in my housing career. From day one I received fantastic informal support and mentoring from my manager, colleagues and peers from across the organisation. This helped me develop my knowledge and skills in the housing sector.

TCH also supported me with formal training and qualifications such as my level 4 CIH housing qualification and next generation leaders training.

I love how passionate people who work in social housing are and the difference we can make. As the sector grows and develops, I aspire to grow with it.”
