Meet Florence and Charlie, two enthusiastic new apprentices who are eager to start their careers in the electrical trades with TCH Repairs (TCHR). TCHR, our joint venture with Fortem Solutions, provides valuable apprenticeship opportunities and is committed to developing its workforce. Hear about their experiences and what they’re most looking forward to as they build their skills.

Florence Sheppard, Electrical Apprentice

“I first applied for the course because I wanted to learn a trade and to have the ability to help others in a specialised way.

“I’m really enjoying it so far, it’s hands on and I’m finding it fulfilling.

“One of my favourite things is getting the opportunity to meet lots of different people and being able to help them.

I’m looking forward to gaining more independence and earning my qualification as an electrician!”

Charlie Cosser, Electrical Installation Level 3 apprenticeship

“Since leaving school, I’ve always been interested in becoming an electrician. When I saw the position with TCH Repairs it looked like a fantastic opportunity with a well-established company.

“I’m really enjoying being a part of the team and I’ve been made to feel very welcome and supported.

“My favourite part of the apprenticeship so far is being able to learn lots of different electrical issues in a variety of different scenarios.

“I am looking forward to gaining more knowledge and becoming fully qualified so I can work independently and pass my knowledge and skills onto future electricians.”

Future Apprenticeship Opportunities

New apprenticeship opportunities will be advertised on the Town & Country Housing website from January 2025.

  • You’ll work with a fully qualified trade mentor, as well as spending one day per week in college.
  • Apprenticeships last from two to four years and are available to all aged 16 and above.
  • Upon completion of your qualification, you will move into a trade role to continue your development.
