Free Health Check Event a Success!

More than 80 people came along to our Tunbridge Wells office today (Friday 24 January) to take part in a free health check event.
The initiative – organised in partnership with Foster PM, our planned maintenance contractor – aimed to promote early diagnoses of prostate cancer in men and cholesterol levels in women.
Foster PM, which has been working with TCH for more than four years, came up with the idea after a friend of the company’s Chief Executive Officer was diagnosed at a similar event.

Michael Kingsnorth, Contract Manager for Foster PM, and Lyinola Kajopaiye, Resident Liaison Officer, were there throughout the day to help book people in and direct them to their test.
“We are thrilled to see so many residents participate in this event. It reinforces the importance of regular health checks and the impact these screenings can have in preventing serious conditions,” Michael said.
The Graham Fulford Charitable Trust (GFT) carried out the tests through a simple blood test. They will be analysing the samples after the event and contacting individuals with their results.
With slots available on the day, TCH residents were given the first chance to book in, with the remaining appointments opened up for non-residents, including Tunbridge Wells Borough Council’s office next door.
Taking up the chance of a test was William Benson, the Council’s Chief Executive.
“I think this event it a really good idea, and having it take place in an easily accessed location, during working hours, means that people can take part without the test having a huge impact on their working lives,” he said.
