Have your say – apply to join the Social Housing Resident Panel

Would you like to help shape the future of social housing in England? The government is currently inviting new applications to join its Social Housing Resident Panel, which gives residents the chance to share their views directly with ministers and officials.

The Panel brings together up to 250 social housing residents from across the country. Members take part in meetings, focus groups, online discussions and short surveys, helping to influence policies that affect everyday life – from tackling anti-social behaviour and improving landlord communication, to shaping reforms like Awaab’s Law.

Since 2024, the Panel has been expanded to cover all social housing policy, including the government’s commitment to deliver the biggest increase in social and affordable housebuilding in a generation. You’ll be applying to be part of a diverse group of residents whose voices are heard at the national level.

📝 How to apply

The application process is simple – just fill in a short online form. You don’t need to already be active in community or resident groups to take part. Every experience matters, and your input could help improve housing for thousands of people.

📅 Deadline

Applications close at 11pm on Sunday 7 September 2025. New members will be selected in September and will start taking part in activities from the autumn.

This is a fantastic opportunity to make your voice count and ensure residents’ perspectives are at the heart of future housing policy.
