We’re delighted to share some fantastic news from Rosewell House. Our talented gardener and grounds maintenance guru, Kim Cooper, has achieved a brilliant result in the Tonbridge and Malling In Bloom 2025 competition.
Encouraged by our Housing Officer, Sharon Davies, Kim entered the Rosewell wild garden into this year’s competition – and he didn’t disappoint. Out of many impressive entries, Kim’s hard work shone through. He secured 2nd place in the Best Wild Garden category and went on to win Best Community Project – a huge achievement that recognises not only his gardening skills but also the positive impact his work has on residents and the local community.

The judges visited Rosewell House, interviewed Kim, and experienced the garden in full bloom. They were clearly impressed by his dedication and creativity. Kim later attended the awards presentation on 10 September, proudly collecting his certificates on behalf of Rosewell House.

The In Bloom competition, now in its fifth year and supported by Tonbridge and Malling Borough Council, gives residents, businesses and communities the chance to showcase their green-fingered talents.
With categories ranging from best front and back garden to best allotment, pollinator-friendly space, and even Jubilee-inspired displays, it’s a wonderful celebration of gardening and community spirit. Winners can even receive Coolings Garden Centre vouchers to help grow their next masterpiece.
Kim’s achievement is a fantastic example of how passion and teamwork can make a real difference. His efforts go above and beyond his role, helping to create outdoor spaces that everyone at Rosewell can enjoy.
Let’s give Kim a big congratulations – and who knows, next year it could be you bringing home an award!
