Residents say farewell to Wayne

Last month, we received a truly heart-warming letter from one of our residents, Mr Conrad Edwards. He wrote to express his appreciation for Housing Officer Wayne Lad, who is moving on from his role at Meadow View Court, and shared just how much Wayne will be missed by everyone in the building.

As Mr Edwards told us, “Over the years, we’ve had plenty of Housing Officers come and go, and this week, Wayne Lad is moving on. He’s not leaving Town & Country Housing for good — just heading off to take on a new challenge. On Thursday, 23 October, more than 40 residents packed into the Lounge to say goodbye and wish Wayne well. Even on his last day, he was still at his best, chatting with everyone and making sure everyone felt welcome.”

Wayne’s kindness and fairness clearly made a lasting impression. Residents said they’ve always appreciated his support, dedication and sense of fairness — qualities that make such a difference in day-to-day life.

Wayne told residents he’s always tried to be fair to everyone, and Mr Edwards added: “Honestly, we couldn’t ask for more. He’s set the bar pretty high!”

Now, Wayne has passed the baton to Andrew, who’s stepping into his shoes. Thanks to Wayne’s help and handover, Andrew’s already up to speed and ready to take on the role.

It’s lovely to see the strong connections that can grow between residents and our team members. Thank you, Mr Edwards, for sharing your story — and good luck, Wayne, in your next adventure!
