Awaab’s Law introduces clear timeframes for social landlords to investigate and fix reports of damp, mould, and other serious housing issues. 

The law is named after two-year-old Awaab Ishak, who sadly died after being exposed to mould in his home.

Under the new law, social landlords like us must act quickly when residents report issues like damp and mould.  

The Government has recently published new information to explain Awaabs Law. This includes an easy read booklet in English plus information translated into eight of the most widely spoken languages in the UK:

• Romanian
• Polish
• Arabic
• Somali
• Bengali
• Punjabi
• Gujarati
• Urdu.
