Each year we carry out visual inspections of around one in every five of our homes to identify what future work may be needed.
Checking the inside and outside of your home helps us plan improvements, so during our visits we look at all areas including:
- roofs, walls, windows and doors, fences and paths
- kitchens, bathrooms, heating system, electrical wiring and insulation
- communal and external parts of a block of flats such as corridors, lifts, fire alarms, communal lighting, door entry systems and pathways.

During these visits our surveyors are regularly asked a range of questions by our residents. Of course they’re pleased to answer these, but it’s become clear that many residents have similar questions – which has made us realise that we need to provide residents with clearer information on these regularly raised subjects.

We’re planning a few different ways to make the information available, from providing surveyors with more information to share verbally with residents, to creating a leaflet that they can leave to explain issues in more detail, and of course by planning more stories in our monthly resident newsletter about the topics we know you’re interested in.
Keep an eye out for those articles in future issues, and if there’s a topic you’d like us to cover, please let us know by emailing prteam@tch.org.uk
