Supporting our communities: ways to get involved in Ramsgate and Epsom

Across our communities, we’re proud to support local projects that bring people together, offer practical help and create opportunities to connect. Whether you’re looking to meet new people, try something new or access support, there are some great initiatives you can get involved in.
Here are two local projects making a real difference — and how you can be part of them.
A friendly space to connect: Happy Mondays in Ramsgate

In Ramsgate, we’re supporting Happy Mondays — a welcoming weekly social space where people can come together, have a chat and take part in creative activities.
This relaxed drop-in session is open to anyone who might be experiencing loneliness, unemployment or challenges with their mental health — or simply wants a friendly place to spend time with others.
At each session, you can:
- join in with art and creative activities
- enjoy a chat and meet new people
- even receive small wellbeing treats like a hand massage
For some people, the Happy Mondays session is their main social outing of the week — and a chance to feel part of a supportive community. The sessions regularly welcome around 35 to 40 people each week, creating a warm and inclusive atmosphere.
By supporting this project, we’re helping it continue to run and reach even more people.

Practical support and new opportunities: Good Company in Epsom

In Epsom, we’re working with Good Company — a local charity providing essential support as well as opportunities to get involved and build confidence.
Their services include:
- Foodbank – offering emergency food and wider support for people facing financial difficulties
- Epsom Pantry – providing affordable groceries, advice and a supportive community network
- Common Grounds Café (coming soon) – a welcoming space in the town centre where people can connect, access information and feel supported
There are also plenty of ways for residents to get involved, including:
- volunteering opportunities
- workshops and community activities
- support to build confidence, skills and wellbeing
Once the new café opens, TCH residents will also be able to access an exclusive discount card.
As part of this partnership, our contractor George Jones has kindly offered to repaint Good Company’s office and warehouse. This will create a brighter, more welcoming environment for staff and volunteers who support hundreds of local people each year. This is an example of how TCH uses social value from our supply chain when supporting resident communities.

Getting involved
Both of these projects are great examples of how local spaces can bring people together, offer support and create a sense of belonging.
If you’ve been thinking about getting out more, meeting new people or trying something new, these could be a great place to start if they’re local to you. Whether you drop in for a chat, take part in an activity or explore volunteering, you’ll be warmly welcomed.
