Community Noticeboard update – you said, we’re doing

Our Community Noticeboard is an app that details local events, support services and community groups.

We recently asked residents how we could improve the app, and you shared your views through surveys and a focus group. Thank you to everyone who took part. Your feedback is already making a difference, with some changes going live this month.

We’re making the changes you asked for, to help make the Community Noticeboard easier to use for everyone:

  1. Making the noticeboard easier to use
We’re improving the layout and navigation so it’s simpler to move around the site and find what you need.
  1. Improving accessibility
We’re updating colours and improving compatibility with screen readers to help make the platform more accessible for everyone.
  1. Organising information more clearly
We’re adding new categories to help residents quickly find the information, services, and updates most relevant to them.

We’re also making some extra improvements:

  1. Adding quicker access to support
We’ve added a dedicated crisis support button to the website, making it easier to quickly find help and support in an emergency.
  1. Refreshing logos and imagery
We’re working with students from Medway College, who will create new logos and stock images as part of their Graphic Design coursework. It’s a great way to give students real-world experience while also bringing fresh ideas to the noticeboard inspired by resident feedback.

Later this year, residents will also have the chance to vote for their favourite designs.
