New heating contractors

From 1 October 2026 heating and hot water services will be provided by three new contractors.
To ensure value for money we review all contracts after a period of time. Over the past year we’ve been working with residents to reconsider the contractors that provide our heating and hot water service.
You can find out more about resident involvement in the process here – thank you to everyone that was involved!
Three new firms
Following a competitive process we’ve appointed the following companies:
- Smith and Byford will be carrying out domestic gas heating and hot water repairs and servicing
- Re-Gen (M&E Services) will be looking after communal heat networks
- Robert Heath Heating will be looking after domestic and communal renewable heating and hot water systems, such as solar panels and air source heat pumps.
Oil-based heating will continue to be provided by Headcorn Heating for residents in Kent and Sussex.
You can find out more about each contractor here.
Who to contact
We appreciate that residents may be unsure which firm they need to contact, so we’ve put together these tips:
- If you pay for gas at your home, then contact Smith and Byford
- If you live in a block of flats and you don’t have a boiler in your home, then contact Re-Gen (M&E Services)
- If you have solar panels or an air source heat pump, contact Robert Heath Heating
- Some homes may have solar panels for heating and hot water and still pay for gas. In this case you would contact Robert Heath for any issues with the solar panels and Smith and Byford for any issues with the Gas boiler or pipework.

How to contact from 1 October
As with our previous contractor, each contractor will manage repair and service appointments direct with residents. Some contractors may already have written to you about servicing appointments in October.
Once the contracts start next Thursday (1 October 2026) we’ll update all of the contact details on our website.
If you need to request a repair to your heating and hot water system before 1 October, please use the existing details on our Contact us page.
